Fellow Icelander, Aðalsteinn Guðmundsson, seems to be obsessed with the weather. He's not the only one. The favorite national past-time is complaining about the weather. His last record was called Rhythm of Snow and this one is named Rigning, Icelandic for "rain". Sleet can only be next, which would make the postman very happy. Rigning is a big step up from the last record. Big loping basslines and shuffling beats carry us along through one rainstorm after another. It's a very atmospheric, hypnotic and dubby journey. Like a long bus ride on a gray and rainy day that you don't want to end. Very impressive.
